Written by Jen on February 24, 2010 – 11:15 pmI would very much like to tongue kiss Anthony Weiner.
Will be posting some more health care stuff soon.

Girls Night
Written by SBF on February 22, 2010 – 7:30 pmLast night, for the first time in a while, I had a girls night with some friends. Not the kind they have on television, where you watch romantic comedies, talk about our weight and compare different blackhead extractors. Though, all of those are fine activities except for the romantic comedy part.
Part of the fun of girls night is talking about frivolous but useful things like clothing and beauty regimens. And relationships, too. My girls nights have a little of that, but a lot of other things too. Like vodka and pool, in this week’s case. Yes, we bought the pool table. And I love it. Plus I’m finally getting good at the damn game.
This girls night also featured extended political discussion, mainly reading clips from CPAC aloud and yelling. Good times. The vodka helps a lot.

More food fun
Written by SBF on February 19, 2010 – 5:02 pmApparently, I’m nesting. I spent last night cleaning the house like a lunatic, and today I can’t stop cooking. I canceled some evening plans to cook some deliciousness. As always, my cooking is not recommended as a part of diets for quick weight loss, or any other weight loss for that matter.
I’m making chili, some curry thing J told me about, and baking a pie. An apple pie to be specific. I rarely make actual pies, I usually get lazy and settle for a galette, but as previously mentioned, I’m nuts today. All the food is for next week. I have a bunch of events and tons of work, so won’t have time to cook.

Sickish?
Written by SBF on February 18, 2010 – 9:28 pmThis is that time of year when everyone you see is looking kind of under the weather. Know what I mean? Maybe a little cough or kind of flushed for no reason. Not ill, but sickish. I think it’s winter fatigue, personally. Especially this year. No multivitamin supplements in the world or SAD lights are going to keep you from being sickened by the snow and weather. And there’s a whole month of winter left. Isn’t that swell? Yes it is. If you’re a masochist.

Breakfast Slop
Written by SBF on February 17, 2010 – 10:15 amI’m just stopping in to share a quick recipe with the class. I woke up this morning in kind of a bad mood, and wanted some comfort food. The boyfriend left for work early, so I was only cooking for myself.
Basically I spent 10 minutes pulling things out of the refrigerator, trying to combine them into something that would fit in one skillet and raise my cholesterol as well as my spirits. Here’s what I ended up with (no measurements as usual). This meal is unlikely to help with any weight loss plans you might have, obviously. Read more »

Baby Names
Written by SBF on February 16, 2010 – 2:02 pmNo, don’t get excited. I am not pregnant, thank the Lord. No, one of my good friends just found out she’s having a baby, and is currently obsessed with baby names. We had lunch today and so I have them on mind too.
Anyway, instead of looking for information about Richard Willich like I was supposed to, I spent some time helping her.
Instead of providing ideas, I told her names to avoid. Like the top 10 baby names in the country recently. You want to stay away from those. What are they you ask? Well, Google helped me find them
Boys: Jacob, Michael, Ethan, Joshua, Daniel (hey boyfriend!), Alexander, Anthony, William, Christopher, Matthew.
Most of these are actually fine. They’re classic names.
Girls: Emma, Isabella, Emily, Madison, Ava, Olivia, Sophia, Abigail, Elizabeth, Chloe
Madison? Really? That’s just weird. Must be Gossip Girl’s fault. Everyone wants their kid to sound like a prep school snob.
