Vampire Bill’s Cooking Show?
Written by Jen on June 9, 2009 – 2:03 pmWhile I count the hours (not literally) until True Blood starts again on Sunday, I’m getting by on tidbits of news and some videos. So far, this is one of the best.
Vampire Bill’s Cooking Show from Funny or Die:
The impression (voice-wise) is pretty bad except when he says Sookie, but the video is still really funny.

Wanda on Michelle
Written by SBF on June 2, 2009 – 10:55 amI just saw this video of Wanda Sykes talking to Jay Leno about media coverage and Michelle Obama. In this clip she notes that there are people waiting for the “real” Michelle to show up.
Truth. Sorry assholes.
As a commenter says:
I agree to a certain extent that people appear surprised that this Princeton and Harvard-educated former executive knows how to conduct herself.

George Tiller murdered in his church
Written by Jen on May 31, 2009 – 1:11 pmI’m in shock right now. I haven’t posted here about my background with the pro-choice movement, but it’s extensive. And George Tiller was a hero to me and the thousands of women he’s helped throughout his career.
He had been shot twice before, and went right back to work helping women. The third time was the charm.
The shooting occurred at around 10 a.m. (Central time) at Reformation Lutheran Church on the city’s East Side, Dr. Tiller’s regular church.
Wichita police said that the shots were fired from a handgun in the church lobby during the morning service. The authorities gave few details, but said they were searching for a powder blue Taurus made in the 1990s that had been seen leaving shortly after the shooting. They said witnesses had described seeing a white man departing.
Horrifying.
Update: As of writing, 2:20 pm Eastern, police are looking for:
…white male who was driving a 1990s powder blue Ford Taurus with Kansas license plate 225 BAB. The vehicle is registered to an owner in Merriam, which is in the Kansas City area.
Note: I’m turning off comments on this post because I couldn’t stand something disgusting.

In Treatment Analysis from someone who knows
Written by Jen on May 7, 2009 – 3:25 pmNo, not me. I’m talking about Jung at Heart, written by a psychotherapist. There’s a recap of each episode/session, and then some thoughts about the patients, Paul, and the treatment process. It’s really interesting to read. Obviously everyone forms their own opinion about how things are going, but it is nice to see what a professional thinks.
If you’re not watching In Treatment, you should be. Some amazing acting, plus… Gabriel Byrne. He’s still very hot. My crush began with his role in Stigmata. Yes, he played a priest. This isn’t therapy, lay off me.
Tell me that’s not hot.

The best Lost recaps ever
Written by Jen on April 7, 2009 – 5:42 pmNote: This is my first post here, but not my introduction. Because I’m lame and haven’t written it yet.
I’m insanely into Lost, like lots of people. It’s smart and mind-blowing and all that jazz. But I don’t believe in taking anything that seriously, so I love making fun of it too.
Towards that effort I strongly recommend reading Ack from TVgasm’s Lost recaps. Fair to middling if you want to know what happened, awesome to stupendous if you want to laugh your ass off.
This week’s recap of What Ever Happened Happened, Lost: Mommy Dearest made me shoot beer out of my nose. Which got me laughed at by my mother, but that’s another story.
