Too tired to play

I spent this afternoon babysitting for our neighbor across the street. She’s got two great kids, but man, are they full of energy. I only had to go over for a couple of hours, but I am wiped out. After playing tag, catch, and some complicated game that involved running around touching things in their yard, I had to sit down.

Fortunately they were happy to spend the rest of the time on these cool riding toys they just got, and spaying each other with a hose.

I plan to sleep for at least 50 hours.

Motorin’

Not to be confused with Motrin, of course.

J and I are about to get on the road, headed down to North Carolina. We’re doing a certain thing for a certain person. I can’t tell anymore until later next week, since the person in question reads the blog. They know enough that I’m not spoiling anything here.

Aside from snacks and a couple of audio books we’re bringing some info on eczema for a new project of mine, and an excessive amount of computer crap – since neither of us can ever stop working.

More soon when I can.

According to the New York Times, I have great focus.

Accompanying an article about what impact multitasking has on our brains is a quiz that tests how well you can focus among distractions. By any measure I am certainly a multitasker, but not a jerk face about it like the people in the article.

So I was pleasantly surprised to see my results were really good. I wouldn’t say I have the ability to focus well, but maybe I just don’t realize that it’s not something people are worse at than me.

That SBF and her boyfriend tried (and failed miserably) to sing this song at karaoke last night. They were not “doin’ it well” at all.

Ready to party

Sort of. After a great week surrounded by babies it is really nice be around adults. Or, as close as my friends come to being adults. I’m currently trying to catch up on emails while waiting for some hockey game J and her boyfriend are excited about to start.

Personally I’m more interested in finding out about this stainless steel drums thing the boyfriend has been talking about. But we have cheesecake and lots of wine, so I’m happy.

I did a ton of grocery shopping for this weekend and we’re going to make a lot of great things, so I’ll try to post some recipes/menus as time allows.
