An even busier summer

In a good news, bad news situation I’ve been asked to be in a family wedding. That’s nice because it’s for a cousin I really like but don’t get to see much anymore. So it will be great to spend some time with her in the run up to the big day in September. But, it also means my busy summer is going to get a lot more full.

With gas prices so insane I’m going to need to find some nice discount bridesmaid dresses, since I’ll be driving to Pittsburgh a bunch of times for preparations and parties. Flying might even be cheaper, and I’ll consider it for things that are scheduled long ahead.

Because I’m the best girlfriend who has ever existed, I agreed to go shopping with the boyfriend this morning. Always a bad idea. We both enjoy shopping (obvious from looking at our respective bank accounts), but our style of doing it is very different.

He’s an aimless wanderer. Like, even though hip hop clothing is not huge in his wardrobe, he’ll spend an hour looking at jeans. And maybe try one pair on. Silly.

I’m a heat-seeking missile in a store. I know what I’m looking for and where to find it. Even when I’m just window shopping I do it with purpose.

Suffice it to say we weren’t speaking to each other by the time we left the mall.

Dancing shoes needed

Not for dancing, though. I don’t really do that. I mean, if I go to a wedding or a club I’ll get up for one number, but I don’t really dance. But I need a pair of cute, comfortable shoes for winter. I’m looking in stores and at online auction sites for options based on reviews. The plan is to come up with something soon so I can convince someone to get me a pair as a gift. Two specific someones have mentioned their failure to get something for me yet. You know who you are. You’ll be getting an email with links as soon as I find what I want.

Also, it’s cold. Still. Really cold.
