Yes more home furniture shopping

Plans for the work we’re doing to the house continue. Things are moving along, and surprisingly at a lower price than we thought. So yay on that. But, since it’s us, we have to spend that extra money somewhere. Right now it’s going to go to a couple of new things for the living room. Most of the furniture we have in there now is left over from our separate apartments. I want to upgrade a little. I’ve seen a couple of contemporary coffee tables I like, and the boyfriend has designs on a really nice pair of comfy chairs.

A house is the most fun toy ever.

The boyfriend and I are heading up to Philly on Wednesday for a mini vacation. We’re excited to spend St. Patty’s day with J and her man. She promised to post her menu, too.

On Friday the four of us are going on to New York for the weekend. Insane amounts of fun will be had.

Don’t be a hater

In my tireless quest to help the youth of America (I’m totally making this up and talking nonsense), I have another lesson for you in not being a hater.

First, don’t snicker or mention the fact that I’m actually using the term “hater.” Only a hater would do that. Pointless. I know it’s stupid, but it amuses me. Lay off.

Second, don’t ignore me when I’m talking about something you don’t find interesting. Why? Because my diatribe about useless employees in a certain store I won’t name could stop. I could switch to telling you something neat, like how I learned what a hydraulic crimping tool is and does. But if you stopped listening, you’d miss that park. See?

Third (and final for now), never try to get my boyfriend to join your hate parade. He’s not going to. He knows better.

Need more bandwidth

I think I wrote something already about Little Mama (formerly known as Little Sister) and her husband. He got laid off. The job search continues, but right now he’s looking at schools for an online business degree.

I think it’s a great idea. They don’t really have any debt, so there’s no problem assuming some loans to finance his education. And, since he’ll be able to have a flexible schedule, they’ll have a lot more options once the baby is born.

Then he’ll be set up well for an even better job in a couple of years. Something to consider for folks who are unemployed or underemployed.

Never eating again

Thanks to Gawker’s article about Clarence Thomas and his er, yuckysexytime stuff, I’m truamatized. Never eating, looking at another person, or doing anything ever again. Gross.
