Multitasking gone mad

Written by SBF on July 13, 2010 – 10:49 am

Okay, this is a little out of control. I tried to take a picture, but the camera in my phone stinks big time. I’m sitting here at a coffee shop with J because the wireless where we’re staying is out. I’m trying to catch up on emails and reading some apidexin reviews.

J is multitasking her butt off. The woman is sitting in front of a laptop, holding her cell phone and a newspaper. She’s also drinking iced tea, taking notes on a napkin and eating a muffin. Why so much excitement? Someone might be getting a book deal. More from her on that, hopefully.

I’m tired just watching. Maybe I can snatch the muffin while she’s not paying attention.

Motorin’

Not to be confused with Motrin, of course.

J and I are about to get on the road, headed down to North Carolina. We’re doing a certain thing for a certain person. I can’t tell anymore until later next week, since the person in question reads the blog. They know enough that I’m not spoiling anything here.

Aside from snacks and a couple of audio books we’re bringing some info on eczema for a new project of mine, and an excessive amount of computer crap – since neither of us can ever stop working.

More soon when I can.

Sassy onesies

Written by SBF on July 10, 2010 – 7:39 pm

Went to a baby shower this afternoon. Was generally a good time because the mother to be is a fun person, and didn’t insist on any lame games. We just ate, drank, and opened her gifts.

The thing that surprised me is how lame some of the things people bought were. My friend didn’t register because she didn’t care that much, so everyone was on their own. Her sister had the best gift, this sweet Ergo baby carrier thing that I can’t really describe.

But at least 4 of the 25 people in attendance gave her what I’m referring to as sassy onesies. You know the ones I mean, with the slightly cheeky or funny sayings. She hated them, I could tell. That kind of thing only works for the right person, and my friend is not one to dress her son in snarky clothing. For the record, I got her a gift certificate for a postpartum massage.

Working in the wee hours

Written by SBF on July 9, 2010 – 8:08 am

I took a long nap yesterday afternoon, so I knew I’d have trouble sleeping. Instead of tossing and turning, I decided to just get some work done and go to bed when I got tired. So there I was, sitting at my desk at 2 am when the craziness started. I was checking out www.wrinklecreamsthatwork.net, and heard a huge commotion.

Turns out one of the neighbors had forgotten his keys and couldn’t get into his house. Two other people live there, but I guess he couldn’t wake them up. So, he decided to break their front window. I assume the guy was a little drunk, because he forgot they have an alarm system wired to the windows. So, within 5 minutes he’s half in his house, and the place is overrun with cops.

Good times.

Seriously, these kids are charming. I even like watching them sing songs I can’t stand. Case in point:
