Lots of wonderful nothing

So, for the first time in a long time, nothing is going on with me. Well, things happen of course, but nothing really of note. The most excitement I’ve had in days was talking to a former coworker about her her unlocked phone. Which is interesting stuff, actually. But has nothing to do with my life.

It’s great. The house is fine, the boyfriend is fine. My family is too busy right now to bug me, and the weather’s been too hot to do anything really.

Ah, contentment. I expect it to last for a few more hours before all hell breaks loose.

Domestic bliss

Well, bliss might be overstating it a bit. But I’m having a happy day at home. It is way too hot to go anywhere. The boyfriend went to the store this morning and hasn’t stopped whining about it yet.

It occurs to me that being in DC all this time has done nothing to make me hate the summer less. So hot and humid. Anyway.

Right now I’m doing laundry and clipping coupons. Well, not actually clipping, more like making a note about them. But clipping sounds better. I should be wearing an apron and baking a pie. But I’d kill myself if I had to turn the oven on, and don’t own an apron. So, I’m wearing a sundress and planning to make a salad for dinner. Thank goodness for central air conditioning.

Sorry, but no

Uh, I’ll try to be a little sensitive, because she seems like a nice person. But this woman, Kandyse McClure, is playing a super tough convict on Persons Unknown.

No. I’m sorry. Giving her tattoos and cornrows does not do it. Nor does her “I’m really trying to look scary and crazy” bug eyes act on the show. It just makes me laugh. Every single time. Anyway, there’s a video after the jump that I think proves my point. Just because she’s black doesn’t mean she can play a street criminal.

Road blogging

Well, rest stop blogging really, but you get the idea. I’m headed home from North Carolina and we’re taking a nice long break. I just got off the phone with the boyfriend, who has decided to host a party at our house tomorrow. Fine with me as long as I don’t have to help. At all.

He’s also excited about some testosterone cream thing old boss told him about yesterday when the party idea came up, apparently.

I was thinking about taking J back up to Philly and spending thing night there, but that doesn’t seem like a good idea if I’m going to have to play hostess. I’ll see if she’s too sick of being with me to stay and party too.

Farm stand fun

Oh, got a situation here. J and I are heading back to DC in the morning, so we decided to hit up a farm stand today to stock up on yummies. Now I’m concerned there might not be enough room for our luggage in the car. I can’t put anything in the trunk because I forgot to empty it before I left on Sunday.

So we’re going to have to either stay another 6 weeks to eat all the produce we bought, strap our bags to the roof, or… I dunno. hope and pray.

In the middle of this realization I got a call from my mother with questions about some term life insurance thing she heard about. Like I’m the expert on everything because I do research for a living. Like a good daughter, of course, I’m looking into it for her. Any experts out there?
