Taking care of business

I don’t know if I’ve mentioned lately how much I love consulting. It’s so fun to get to know new clients and have such a range of work going on at the same time. I can’t imagine the last time I was bored working, with a few exceptions. Taxes and documentation stuff is dull, but necessary. But when dealing with my clients it never gets dull because I don’t spend enough time with any one of them to get sick of it, you know?

That’s a nice way to live. Sure, it’s not as dependable as a salaried position somewhere, but the risk is worth it. Instead of ignoring work because I’m tired of whoever or whatever, and spending hours working on cute promotional calenders (ahem), I just get done what I need to, and my free time is mine, without having to sit at a desk without anything to do. Jealous?
