One more thing…

Did I mention that the boyfriend and I have decided to buy this house? The owner is definitely not coming back, and wants to unload it so he can buy something where he lives now. So, we’re working out the money and other details. We’re working out all of the technical details of owning it together, and plans in case we break up or don’t both want to live here some time in the future. Not romantic, but important.

I’m excited, since we’ve done a fair amount of work, and the house is in great shape. Plus, it looks like the mortgage will be reasonable. Even adding things like taxes and home insurance, we will still only be paying a little more than we were when living separately.

So, lots of exciting things going on. Remind me to write about the finalized vacation plans.

What to do?

What’s the best way to deal with a meal you really don’t like? The boyfriend and I are doing 2 Thanksgivings this year, both locally (yay!)

The first will be fine. A friend’s house, people we like, and know can cook. The second dinner, however, is a problem. I’ve had dinner with these folks before, and let’s just say the memory is a great appetite suppressant.

Obviously no one expects you to be starving when you have two dinners on the same night, but we will be expected to eat something. The boyfriend recommends the old food in the napkin trick. I’m leaning towards pushing food around on a plate and then sneaking it into the garbage as soon as possible. Will let you know what we do.

Electronics overload

Not as fun as cute overload, but still good. Actually I hate that site, but… moving right along. I’ve taken on some extra work to help with holiday shopping and vacation plans.

There are currently 12 digital cameras sitting on our dining room table, and I get to play with all of them.

I’m writing an article about the insane range of quality and features pointed at the casual user, and how confusing it can be to select and then use something so simple. I’ve got a headache already, and the boyfriend is hiding from me – he doesn’t want to be one of my testers.

I love you, I’m sorry

Things have been very quiet here, and I’m sorry about that. Life, as usual, has interfered. But I’m going to get back to a regular posting schedule, though it may not be until after Thanksgiving. In the meantime, I’ll try to pop in now and again.

Speaking of the holiday, J has promised to post the menu for her first Thanksgiving, which should be fun.

While you’re all off reading blogs written by more reliable people, I’ll be looking for the best anti-wrinkle cream and headache medicine.

Word Series

Now, since was born and raised in Philadelphia, and the boyfriend is from New York, the Word Series is a mine field for me. I have to manage to root for and against both teams at the same time. Last night I went with the boyfriend and some other folks to a bar for the endless game 3.

Fortunately, I got side tracked by a new pal who loves cigars. I learned about White Owl cigars and some other kinds I can’t remember, and had a sample. I don’t smoke normally, so I didn’t get a lot out of it. I did learn that cigar and hookah bars were excepted from the smoking ban.

Yay Yanks! Go Phils!
