And again and again

Written by SBF on October 12, 2009 – 12:46 pm

Just wanted to give a quick “word rubbish” update. The trend continues – in written form. Right now I’m sitting in on a conference call that has nothing to do with me, so I’m GTalking my ass off. And getting paid. Be a consultant, seriously.

Anyway, after sharing useful information about thermogenic fat burners, to someone who asked, I moved to movie reviews with someone who certainly did not.

Please stop me before I tell a random person at the liquor store the history of my menstrual cramps.

Word Rubbish

Written by SBF on October 12, 2009 – 12:37 pm

My mother has a rather serious aversion to discussing anything related to bodily functions. To the point that when my father refers to my frequent and longstanding bouts of verbal diarrhea, she has made him refer to it as word rubbish. Which just makes me crack up.

Today has been a big one for word rubbish with me. Talking to clients, friends, the boyfriend, everyone gets some. For example, this morning I was making dinner plans and ended up talking about my experience with acne treatment, and then somehow my favorite books in junior high school.

In case you’re interested, I discovered crappy romance novels at that time and read everything I could get my hands on by Danielle Steel. Shameful, but true.

Back to school?

Written by SBF on October 6, 2009 – 11:30 am

Words that strike terror in the heart of most people, right? Kids, of course. But also people my age. Something about being 30 in a crappy economy has caused a lot of folks to make the choice to go back to school, hoping to find a good/better/any job when they’re done.

The boyfriend is considering it as well. He wouldn’t leave his job, they’re willing to help pay for school and make his schedule flexible. Good stuff, but you couldn’t pay me to go back to school.

Unless it’s an online masters degree, or similar program. I think those are great. You get the education, but don’t have to visit a college campus, and I think they’re more suitable to working people.

I was surprised to see how many different programs there are from very good schools.

Will keep you posted about what he decides.

What is term life insurance?

Written by SBF on October 3, 2009 – 9:23 am

Term life insurance provides coverage for a limited amount of time, at a fixed payment rate. Should the insured person die during this period of time, the benefit is paid to the beneficiary. After the term expires the insured person either loses coverage or continues coverage at a newly agreed rate and set of terms.

Most insurance companies offer some type of term life coverage. It is important to get a few different term life insurance quotes to fidn the best one for your needs.

This is one of the most popular types of life insurance because it is more economical than others. However, there is risk involved because if the insurance time ends, the money paid is lost and not recoverable to beneficiaries.
