Bathroom habits

Eww, not like that. Living with the boyfriend is generally lots of fun, I’m pleasantly surprised to say. In fact, some of the things I thought would be annoying are actually things that make us laugh and enjoy each other. I don’t mean to make it sound perfect, there are times I can’t stand the sight of him and vice versa, but it is good.

This morning we had a silly conversation while I was in the shower, and he was doing whatever it is he does in the bathroom in the morning. He spends a good 30 minutes just wandering around in and out of there, but I never see him actually doing anything.

When we first moved in I would snap at him whenever he came in the bathroom while I was showering because that’s my morning getting centered time, but my need for it has translated into a nice quiet time for us to chat about whatever silliness we can think of.

Today’s topic was things we’ve seen in people’s medicine cabinets. Turns out we have both only seen boring things, nothing good or exciting. Generally, just medications we have never heard of like Januvia, or Apidexin, or Lutera. Boring, but fun.

This is not a puppy blog

I swear. Sure, there’s an adorable puppy on the floor next to me. And he’s gnawing on one of the boyfriend’s old shoes. More adorable. And he has a huge head and giant paws. More cuteness. And I’m thinking about keeping him, even though we have no business having a dog. Especially a puppy.

We have the dog as a favor to one of my clients. She’s out of town for a few days and needed someone who could be hone during the day to take care of Stu (the puppy), because he can’t deal with going to the kennel with his brother. So, I offered. Yes, I am a sucker for adorable. But only with animals.

I know I promised news, but I can’t quite share it yet. I can say it involves weight loss pills – in a good way, the color green, and lots of champagne. Curious?

“But I can’t imagine it in better terms”

Two things.

First, after spending most of the day in a car yesterday, I couldn’t sleep last night. So, I cleaned out the pantry, organized some books, and did lot of looking at random things online. I learned about different kinds of lemons, and how women shoes are made in Italy. Good times.

Also, I don’t know if I ever shared habit J and I have. When we both can’t sleep (she’s a terrible insomniac), we text song lyrics back and forth to each other. Weird, but fun and it seems really deep and meaningful when you’re exhausted in the middle of the night. Read more »

Still in the car

The boyfriend and I have been in the car for what seems like 20 hours. In reality it’s almost 7 hours, which is close enough. Our day started with a bang, got a call that his sister was in the hospital. So, we hopped in the car and headed up to New Jersey to see her. In the crazy weather craziness. Not fun. But she’s fine, and he wanted to come back home today, so back in the car we went. And now we’re stuck in more bad weather.

Thank goodness for smart phones, or I’d be bored to tears. He’s been on the phone for the last hour and a half. Before that we invented a game involving jelly beans, Mary J Blige, and truck grills. Don’t ask. It was fun.

So I’ve been checking emails, reading some newspapers (online obvs) and now blogging. Still in the car.

I can haz new boyfriend?

For some reason (I’m assuming heat stroke) has become obsessed with LOL cats this week. Every time he emails, texts or talks to me, It’s all about stupid LOL cat style talk. Now, I appreciate a cute cat with weird spelling issues as much as the next gal, but it is too hot and I am too tired for days and days of this.

In the meantime, I’m spending every extra minute I have trying to get ready for this Labor Day/Housewarming Party that is quickly creeping up. We still need to plan almost everything, and buy some patio furniture, since the back yard is specifically mentioned in the invitation, and right now the only thing to sit on out there is a pile of cinder blocks that we’re both pretending to ignore.

I’ve got some interesting news to share, but you have to wait a few more days.
