Vampire Bill’s Cooking Show?

While I count the hours (not literally) until True Blood starts again on Sunday, I’m getting by on tidbits of news and some videos. So far, this is one of the best.

On the bus

I don’t really have anything to say. I’m sitting on the bus heading to Georgetown (shut up, J!) for the evening. Like all bus or metro rides I take it’s a sea of business casual clothes and ipods. I ran out of the house late so I have nothing to do except play with my phone. Good times.

On the bright side I’ve spent some time clearing out my address book and reading nonsensical notes i wrote to myself months ago and promptly forgot.

I’m off to a business dinner that I hope gets done quickly so I can go home and get to bed early. I am so tired.

Bad Blog Reader

I walked into the house a few minutes ago and sat down to read some blogs before I get ready to go out. I realized that I hadn’t really read much yesterday so I figured there would be quite a backlog in Bloglines.

I had no idea how bad it would be. I subscribe to like 300 blogs, but less than half of those update frequently. Except for today. I had 217 new posts to get through. I checked a couple important ones and gave up completely.

I am a very bad blog reader and I apologize to everyone for throwing the “mark all as read” at you.

Someone sit on this baby for me

As I’m writing this I am sitting on the floor outside the guest bedroom. Why? Because there’s a baby sleeping inside who wakes up every time I get more than 10 steps out of the room. But I’ve got him, now. I brought my computer over here and will sit on the floor working until his nap is over. So there, baby. Outsmarted you, finally.

Why is there a baby in our house? Well, my cousin is in town with her family. Their kids are done with school and they came to beat some of the DC summer crowd craziness. They got here yesterday afternoon. They came over for dinner last night, which was fun. I took notes about what we had that I’ll post later.

Anyway, the baby was kind of fussy all evening, but they didn’t think anything of it. But at 7:30 this morning my cousin called to tell me he was actually sick, and to ask if I would babysit him for a few hours so the other kids didn’t have to miss out on the sight-seeing.

And, of course I agreed. What she didn’t tell me is that he’s got some kind of noxious poison coming out of him. It’s like he got a colon cleanse, but from Satan, you know?

Anyway, diaper changing horror aside, he’s finally sleeping which makes me happy. Remind me to never have kids.
