How was the weekend?

Written by SBF on March 31, 2009 – 9:28 am

Why, thanks for asking. It was lovely. J was a little stressed but we had fun and ate a lot of amazing food. I also got to see my friend and former coworker Steph who lives in Philadelphia. Good times.

In other news, I think I may have convinced J to do some guest blogging here. I’ve got a lot more things to do than time to do them, so I thought it would be fun. Plus, she needs to start blogging again. And as she’s as sassy and black as I am, it’s a good fit.

Shhh, it’s a ruined surprise

Written by SBF on March 24, 2009 – 6:30 pm

The plan was simple. The boyfriend took Thursday and Friday of this week off to deal with some house stuff, and I managed to clear my schedule as well. We were going to try and knock out the boring stuff on Thursday and it the road Friday.

We’d drive up to Philly to surprise J who is freaking out about her move. Fun weekend in a fun town, help a friend out, goos plan, right? I even talked to her mother to help us out. She promptly spilled the beans, as J told me at happy hour today.

Anyway, we’ll still go, but it won’t be as fun as a surprise. So, I won’t be posting for a couple of days while I finish work stuff and head out.

Next time, gold bracelets and insurance online.

Funny and infuriating

I have never seen an episode of Jimmy Kimmel’s show, but this is fantastic. As an aside, if you haven’t watched Better Off Ted, you should. Right now. Seriously, it’s online, go see it. Sheesh.

In other completely unrelated news, J moves in two days. Not good. Not good at all. I am thinking about kidnapping her.

What to do with all these CDs

Written by SBF on March 22, 2009 – 9:05 pm

I’m in the beginning stages of planning for my move, and trying to figure out what things I can get rid of. Having more space at the new place is no excuse for continuing to hang on to stuff I don’t need.

Right now I’m focused on the 120 CDs sitting in a cabinet. I haven’t played a single one since I moved in here, so it seems silly to keep them. All the music I have is on my computer. So what do I do with all the CDs? Give them away? Try to sell them? I have no idea.

Thinking about it now, I don’t even know how much CDs cost anymore. I had to look up how much they’re on Sale for. Silly, right? Blame iTunes and Amazon.com. Digital music is much easier to move also.

What? Scary crazy!

Written by SBF on March 21, 2009 – 8:50 am

Um… I don’t know a lot of things. I do know that water that you can set on fire is really scary and bad. Check this out.

There’s so much contamination from natural gas in these people’s water that they can set it on fire. Right from the faucet. Yikes. Video here.
