The invasion begins…

The weather here is about as cold as it ever gets, so of course I spent all morning running around, freezing my ass off. The plan was to get things done while I can still move freely. Too late. It’s like late June in terms of crowds I’d say. Too many people but not yet offensive.Also based on my limited experience from to day I’d say Inaugural tourists are better than summer tourists. Maybe it’s just the cold – they move faster. Summer humidity makes them sluggish?

My personal invasion starts bright and early tomorrow morning. Between then and next Wednesday I’ll have a total of 5 extra people in my tiny apartment. Only 3 are staying here that whole time.

Right now I’m cooking piles and piles of food for them and the locals I expect to be stopping by. J lives even closer to the Mall than I do but she’s been busy, and thus trying to pawn her folks off on me. Thanks, bitch. Oh, and my parents called this morning to see if I thought they should try to come down. My “no” couldn’t have been more emphatic.

I expect the weekend to be kind of like this, but with a lot more people. And more scary.

My plan is to stack a couple in the corner, one under the bed, and the overflow in tv stands and bookcases as necessary.
