Written by SBF on June 22, 2011 – 8:45 amNothing brings me more joy than sharing bits of trivia. But I hate those bar trivia games. Not because they’re bad, just because I don’t really like organized activities. Too much time spent on sports teams and lessons as a kid I guess. Plus, I can’t bring myself to feel competitive about things that aren’t important.
Anyhoodle, I have a note pad I always keep with me where I create lists of whatever. Grocery shopping, recipe ideas, to do items, and a ton of things to “look into” at some point.
It’s fun to look through and try to figure out why I chose something. Like I remember being in the car and wanting to find out what curt hitches are. But I have no idea why I was interested in soil density in the mid-Atlantic region. Or where the thought came from.

Truckin’
Written by SBF on June 20, 2011 – 9:04 amI’m a little sad. After the 4th of July I start a month of extensive work-related travel. Most of it will be in my car by myself. No fun. Two trips will involve planes (both are for conferences). The boyfriend is probably going to tag along for one of those, which will be nice.
In preparation I’ve been decking out my ride (heh) a bit. Finally got a guidance system installed. I got a deal for a few months to try it. Since I’m terrible at reading maps and directions I hope it will keep me from getting lost. Nothing fancy like gps for truckers, but something to help keep me sane.
Oh, and tons of music and books on tape (er, CD. But books on CD sounds dumb, doesn’t it?)
